Our Founder, Mr. Larry Fitzgerald Jr., has spent the majority of his life playing football. It's no wonder that over the years he learned what the essential needs are for youth and what is required to keep children safe while playing the game of football. We are grateful to share that Mr. Fitzgerald teamed up with Riddell to donate 1000 state of the art youth football helmets and provided training, to the entire Minneapolis Parks and Recreation youth football program where he first played football as a young child.
Supporting this program was another step forward as the foundation has previously donated football equipment and holiday gifts to the park. In addition to providing equipment, Mr. Fitzgerald volunteered his time to serve as the national spokesman for USA Football’s Protection Tour, promoting proper technique and protective equipment.
The Larry Fitzgerald Foundation has also hosted a youth football camp in Minnesota and in Arizona for several years. Every year, scholarship slots are funded by the foundation so that youth in under resourced communities can attend. The Larry Fitzgerald Football Camp provides boys and girls ages 7-14 the opportunity to learn fundamentals from Mr. Fitzgerald and other NFL players and coaches.
